Choosing the right truck size is essential for optimal performance and control. Trucks should match your deck width for the best riding experience.
Standard Truck Sizing

| 7.5" - 7.75" | 129mm - 139mm (5.0" - 5.25") | Street skating, technical tricks |
| 7.75" - 8.25" | 139mm - 149mm (5.25" - 5.75") | All-around skating, park |
| 8.25" - 8.5" | 149mm - 159mm (5.75" - 6.0") | Transition, bowls, ramps |
| 8.5" - 9.0" | 159mm - 169mm (6.0" - 6.5") | Cruising, pools, vert |
| 9.0"+ | 169mm+ (6.5"+) | Cruisers, longboards, old school |
How to Measure
Deck Width: Measure the width of your skateboard deck at its widest point (usually the center).
Truck Axle Width: The axle is the metal rod that runs through the truck. Measure from end to end.
Sizing Tips
- Match your deck: Trucks should be within 0.25" of your deck width for optimal performance
- Wheels shouldn't stick out: When viewed from above, wheels should align with or sit just inside the deck edges
- Wider = more stable: Wider trucks offer more stability but less responsive turning
- Narrower = more responsive: Narrower trucks are quicker to turn but less stable at speed

Independent, Thunder, Venture, Tensor, Ace, Krux, and Royal all use slightly different sizing systems. Always check the manufacturer's specific size chart.
